Visitor Parking
UNCW offers free visitor parking in parking lot F (located just off
Wagoner Drive between Alderman Hall and Westside Hall). We encourage
all visitors to begin their visit at the visitor information booth
located at the entrance to Lot F so they can be informed of their parking
options and be directed to the preferred parking area by our helpful
attendant and thus avoid the unwelcome experience of being ticketed
for parking incorrectly.
Additional visitor parking is available throughout
campus by using a parking meter or by purchasing a parking pass. Parking
spaces for visitors are outlined by teal lines and identified by appropriate
signs. Visitors may park in designated visitor spaces only.
Parking spaces outlined in yellow are for faculty and staff. However,
after 4 p.m., all parking lots are open to students and to visitors
with passes, and you may park in either white-lined or yellow-lined
spaces.
Metered spaces are intended primarily for casual visitors rather than
invited departmental guests, admissions tour visitors, etc. Faculty,
staff, students and vendors may not park in metered spaces.
Metered visitor parking spaces are located in various
campus locations, including:
- Bluethenthal Wildflower Preserve entrance
- Eaton Plaza
- Lot D near Randall Library
- Lot E
- Lot FF near Wagoner Hall
- Lot K near Trask Coliseum
- Lot Q near Cultural Arts
- Lot S near the Student Recreation Center
- Riegel Road
Visitors may put coins in the meters for up to two-hour
visits ($.25 per 1/4 hour), or they may purchase an all-day parking
pass for $4 or a weekly parking pass for $10 from Parking & Transportation
Services.
Visitors may park at the parking deck located at the corner of Reynolds
and Cahill Drives. Visitors may park in designated visitor parking
only on the main level.
Visitor parking at the deck is free for the first 15
minutes. After that, the hourly rate is $1.50. The visitor daily rate
is a maximum of $10 for a 24-hour period.
To Obtain a Visitor Parking Pass:
Go to Parking & Transportation Services (located
in the Warwick Center):
Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. – 5
p.m.
Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Directions to the preferred parking area will be provided by the customer
service representative at the visitor information booth or Parking &
Transportation Services.
Invited departmental guests must receive a parking
pass from the department extending the invitation to park in any area
other than visitor designated spaces. Please contact the department
to obtain your parking pass prior to arrival on campus.
Additional visitor parking spaces may be designated
for special events. When attending a special event on campus, please
park in the area designated by the event information. If the event
information does not designate a preferred parking area, please park
in visitor parking areas noted above.
Admissions campus tour visitors are required to park in the designated
locations indicated on campus visit information.
Visitors requiring handicap accommodations must display
a state-issued handicap placard or license plate and may park in any
designated handicap spaces.
Visitors receiving a "no decal" citation have three options:
- Pay the $4 daily parking pass rate
- Complete the back of the citation and sign it. Pay
$4 in person at Parking & Transportation Services, or mail
a check payable to UNCW to the address indicated on the citation.
- Pay the citation as issued within seven days
- Appeal the citation within seven days (the appeal
form is on the back of the citation)
- Citations are granted only for citations written
in error and must have supporting documentation. Appeals received
after seven business days will not be allowed, and the full parking
fine is due.
