Note that Action Items are bolded and underlined.

Mr. Fry provided information about the steps the Committee had taken to find satisfactory space for the Payroll Office and the Purdie Custodial Lounge currently located in the White House, a building that will be demolished at some point in July. Ms. Langer reviewed her needs for SBTDC, citing her need for a space that provided a level of confidentiality and security. SBTDC staff utilizes a conference room on a daily basis when groups come to discuss the formation of a small business. This unit requires at least eight offices, conference space and a training facility along with room for file storage. Ms. Langer responded to questions and then left the meeting. Following Committee discussion, a recommendation was made to move SBTDC to Room 122 in the New Centre facility. In addition to this space, SBTDC will utilize two vacant offices in the Human Resources and schedule the Public Service Conference and the HR Training Room for training events and group discussions. The Fieldhouse, currently occupied by the SBTDC, will house Payroll, Financial Aid’s Imaging operation, and the Purdie Custodial Lounge.

In light of Dr. Carter’s expanded responsibilities, the Committee recognizes the need to move the Academic Planning function back to campus as soon as possible.

Dr. Hill will develop a plan for moving the Art Studio and the Public History classroom to the Movie Theater property this summer.  He will report on this plan at the Committee’s next meeting.

Mr. Davis asked that the Committee make a recommendation on a sponsor for the Alderman Hall renovation project. After discussion, it was decided that Mr. Davis would serve as interim sponsor until Dr. DePaolo has an opportunity to review the project.

Mr. Fry reported that additional staff would be added to the University Relations function over the next year and that additional space will need to be allocated to this unit in James Hall. The Committee will review a list of James Hall and Warwick Center occupants at its next meeting.
