Minutes of the August 15, 2001 Meeting

Attending: Boyd, Dodd, Farley, Fry, Hosier, Ragon, Rowell

Mr. Fry reviewed the content of the current Facilities website and the article that is to appear in the August 23rd edition of the Campus Communiqué. Suggestions were made for both of these items.

The senior officers are considering recent suggestions made by architects hired for one of the new campus facilities. This may result in the relocation of a new facility. Parking will be affected if a decision is made to move this facility.

In response to questions raised about renovation projects, the committee generated a list of questions that need to be addressed in the near future. At its next meeting, the Committee will consider the following questions about a number of the renovation projects:

  1. Timing of renovation projects to determine need for swing space (space to relocate displaced offices)
  2. List of offices that currently occupy buildings that are scheduled for renovation
  3. Size of groups to be moved both in terms of personnel and square footage needs
  4. Displaced group's technology needs
  5. Identify group's access needs with respect to the public or other members of the university community
  6. Identify group's adjacency needs - what offices does a group need to be near when they are moved to another location
  7. Identify space within a division where one or more of the displaced offices could be located
  8. List of renovations that must be completed in a building
  9. List of additional renovations that are needed in a building
  10. List of offices that will be moving into the renovated space
  11. Furniture/equipment that will be brought back into the renovated facility
  12. List of specialized needs of new tenants
