| Minutes of the August 22, 2001 Meeting | |
Attending: Boyd, Dodd, Farley, Fry, Hosier, Rowell and Ragon.
Dr. Hosier presented information on additional square footage needs in Westside Hall. This need is associated with Student Affairs requirements for its health and counseling services. Any addition to this project will require additional funds from other than bond sources. Additional design work and the need to find alternative revenue sources will delay this project. It was noted that the process used to design and construct/renovate this building will be looked at as the standard for future projects.
Committee discussed the possible need to hire an engineering consultant to review the detailed renovations that are to take place in Friday Hall. This proposed review is associated with Academic Affairs' attempt to save funds from this and other projects so that Friday Hall can be expanded.
Committee discussed the various moves that are needed during renovation projects. It was decided that Mr. Fry and his staff would prepare a graphic that will show the displaced offices, the vacated facilities, and the swing space locations. This graphic will be used in building various "what if" scenarios and in making presentations to the senior officers and other members of the campus community.
