bolded and underlined.
The Committee considered alternate locations for both the Payroll Office and the Purdie Lounge. The SBTDC facility was considered since it is located close to the center of campus. After discussion it was decided to make the following recommendation to the Cabinet:
This will provide an on-campus space for Payroll and a space close to the center of campus for the Lounge. Building “D” will need interior and exterior upgrades if it is to be used by SBTDC. Dr. Hosier noted that the Institutional Research Office had presented several security concerns about the Burney Center and that the removal of the current exit will present a safety problem.
Mr. Fry will prepare and
present this recommendation to the Cabinet.
Addendum:
The Cabinet considered this recommendation along with a memorandum from Leslie Langer, Director of the SBTDC, at its meeting on April 30th. Cabinet did not support this recommendation and asked the Committee to provide an alternative at its next meeting. Chancellor Leutze, Jim Edmundsen and Bob Fry toured Building “D” that afternoon and met with several CMS personnel. It was determined that parking is very limited during certain times of the years. In addition to the condition of the building, parking would be a problem for any organizational unit occupying this location.
