WILMINGTON, N.C. The Landfall Tradition, a three-day tournament featuring 24 of the nation’s finest collegiate golf teams, makes its debut Nov. 1-3 at the Country Club of Landfall’s Pete Dye Course.
The 54-hole event, hosted by UNC Wilmington, will feature 18 holes each day by 12 men’s teams and 12 women’s teams. A practice round will be held on Thursday, Oct. 31, and the tournament gets under way on Friday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 a.m.
The men’s field includes the host Seahawks, Duke, Furman, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Penn State, Purdue, Tulsa, UNC Charlotte, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin. Minnesota is the defending NCAA Division I champion after beating Georgia Tech by four strokes last spring.
In addition to UNCW, the women’s field will pit Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida State, Louisville, Mississippi State, Penn State, Purdue and Wake Forest.
The Dye Course is no stranger to championship-caliber golf. It served as the host site of the 1994 NCAA Women’s Golf Championships.
