During the four weeks leading to the chancellor's Installation, Rosemary DePaolo hit the road on a "Procession to Installation." She was warmly welcomed by key business, civic and education leaders in addition to area alumni. The purpose of these outreach efforts were to provide her a first hand look at the counties that surround UNCW and to explore ways to serve them better. Thank you to everyone who attended and hosted these events. Our thanks go out to Virginia Baysden '72, Ron Choate '72, Mickey Corcoran '70, Hobby Green '77, Bob Joos '79, Murphy-Brown LLC and Sam O'Leary '83 for making these events possible.

Jervee Babson with Chancellor DePaoloALUMNI HOST INSTALLATION EVENTS
The UNCW Alumni Association was involved in four events during Installation Week honoring Rosemary DePaolo. The week started out by bringing together all alumni who work at UNCW as faculty or staff for breakfast. Their gift to the chancellor was near and dear to her heart – they raised alumni faculty and staff giving to 80 percent and pledged to reach 100 percent by June 30. The Wilmington College Alumni Chapter, the Order of Isaac Bear and the Retired Faculty Association hosted DePaolo for a "Heritage Luncheon" on April 14. Jervie Babson ’53 presented her with a hand-crafted gravel and base with a plaque featuring seals of both Wilmington College and UNCW. In attendance were many influential former administrators faculty, staff, alumni and friends. The Cape Fear Alumni Chapter, the Past Chairs Council and the Graduate School hosted a reception April 14 at Wise Alumni House that drew over 300 people. The program honored Chancellor DePaolo, and the group presented her with a framed Ronald Williams print with a plaque noting the special occasion. The UNCW Student Ambassadors hosted all orientations leaders, presidents of student organizations and their members at buffet breakfast on April 15. They presented her with two signed books about North Carolina and a pair of "Rainbows" so she could feel like a student again and enjoy the area’s relaxed life-style when the opportunity arises.
