The Aquarius site has been selected as a featured site in Lightspan’s StudyWeb® as one of the best educational resources on the Web by our researchers.
The Aquarius web site was nominated and approved for the monthly “Seal of Approval” recognition for outstanding websites related to marine research, conservation, biotelemetry & biotechnology. The award was given by Texas A&M University’s Laboratory for Applied Biotelemetry & Biotechnology.
Aquarius has been selected as the April Data Tip (“Submersed in Underwater Technology”) on the Bridge, the new web–based National Ocean Sciences Education Teacher Resource Center coordinated by the Virginia Sea Grant Marine Advisory Program at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. The Bridge is supported by the National Oceanographic Partnership Program, and is sponsored by the National Marine Educators Association and the national network of Sea Grant educators.
Aquarius received the “Net–mom Approved” slice o’ pie. Jean Armour Polly, author of The Internet Kids & Family Yellow Pages has informed us that Aquarius webcam and other pages will be included in the 4th edition of her book, which will be out October 1999 if all goes well.
Aquarius has been chosen as HMS Beagle’s “Web Pick of the Day”, and will be featured on their home page. HMS Beagle is a biweekly webzine for biological and medical researchers, with a daily digest of the highest–quality Web resources and published material. The site will then be listed on Beagle’s “Favorite Web Sites”; page for 30 days, as well as permanently catalogued in BioMedLink.
The center’s site was among those selected for the Bridge, the new web–based National Ocean Sciences Education Teacher Resource Center. The Bridge is a unique clearinghouse of the best K – 12 ocean sciences education sites available online.
The Aquarius site was reviewed in wNetSchool’s selected sites section, a resource of helpful sites for teachers, because of its outstanding display of innovative educational content on the Internet.
