The University of North Carolina Wilmington works in ongoing, productive partnerships with local, regional and national organizations in a variety of activities enhancing the artistic and cultural environment of our community and region. Ranging from youth outreach opportunities, shared performance presentations, shared fundraising strategies, artists-in-residence programs and master classes, these partnership initiatives provide effective opportunity for sharing and expanding resources and creativity. alban elved
Based in Berlin, New York City and now North Carolina, Karola Lüttringhaus' alban elved dance company has achieved critical acclaim internationally for the energy, dramatic variety and visceral vitality of its choreography. As part of a new residency with the Office of Cultural Arts, the company will produce three-four major performances per year in UNCW’s Kenan Auditorium, in addition to providing master class opportunities for UNCW dance students and other dancers and ensembles in the community and region.

Cape Fear Jazz Society
The Cape Fear Jazz Society was formed nearly a decade ago to celebrate great jazz music in all its wide varieties, sounds and styles. The Society works in close partnership with UNCW and other community groups in numerous concert, educational and scholarship activities, all designed to showcase and illuminate an American-born art form celebrated world-wide.

Carolina Ballet
Established in 1997 and based in Raleigh, the Carolina Ballet is now recognized as one of the finest young American ballet companies. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Robert Weiss, the ensemble is critically acclaimed for its energetic and creative approach to the classical dance repertoire. In the fall of 2006, the Carolina Ballet embarks on an historic tour of the People’s Republic of China.

Chamber Music Wilmington
Currently in it’s 13th season, Chamber Music Wilmington brings chamber music of the highest quality to southeastern North Carolina. Through live performances and numerous outreach activities at local libraries, schools and museums, Chamber Music Wilmington produces and presents creatively enlightened programming featuring established and emerging artists and ensembles.

North Carolina Symphony
The North Carolina Symphony is a full-time, professional orchestra with 65 members, bringing great music in live performance to audiences throughout the state. Under the leadership of Music Director Grant Llewellyn, the orchestra has generated a growing, and growingly enthusiastic, national and international reputation.

Wilmington Concert Association
For 78 years the Wilmington Concert Association has brought to the region classical soloists and ensembles of the highest international stature. Highlights of this year’s presentations include
pianist Emanuel Ax, Pilobolus Dance Company, and TEATRO LIRICO d'EUROPA's performance of Giacomo Puccini's Tosca.

Wilmington Symphony Orchestra
The Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, now in its 36th season, remains a cultural jewel in our community, performing a series of subscription concerts for thousands of adults and school children throughout the year. A free educational concert for children and their families, artist-in-residence programs for students, holiday concerts and the annual Richard R. Deas Student Concerto Competition are just part of the orchestra’s outreach initiatives. The musicians are local amateur and professional instrumentalists as well as UNCW faculty and music students. The Music Director and Conductor, Dr. Steven Errante, is a Professor of Music at UNCW.
