Students riding the ShuttlePark and Ride

UNCW has two Park and Ride zones:

  • Park and Ride College Zone 4 is located across College Road at the intersections of Hurst, Hoggard, and St. James Drives.  Park and Ride College Zone 4 is designated by the color Royal Blue.  Therefore, only permit holders with a Royal Blue permit number are allowed to park in this zone/lot.  Student parking spaces in Park and Ride Zone 4 are outlined by white lines.

The Park and Ride College Zone 4 lot is Royal Blue in color on the commuter parking map.

  • Park and Ride Oleander Zone 5 is located on Oleander Drive.  Park and Ride Oleander Zone 5 is designated by the color Cherry.  Therefore, only permit holders with a Cherry permit number are allowed to park in this zone/lot.  Student parking spaces in Park and Ride Zone 5 are outlined by white lines.

The Park and Ride Oleander Zone 5 lot is Cherry in color on the commuter parking map.

These zones provide more than 600 spaces and feature a lower price tag than the full-time commuter permits, to compensate for their off-campus location.  Park and Ride permit holders are restricted to their assigned Park and Ride zone lots from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday – Friday.

Park and Ride Shuttle Service

Check out the shuttle map to plan your route to class. And remember, you can secure your bike on the shuttle bicycle rack for quick access from point A to point B once on campus. Shuttle service is available to both Park-and-Ride lots. The shuttle is available on Mondays through Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Shuttles run every 8 minutes or so from the Park and Ride lots to campus. Express shuttles run between the Park and Ride lots to campus from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Green Express Shuttle Route Changes

Due to construction, the Green Express Shuttle route, which runs to and from the Oleander Park and Ride, has two permanent changes. The new pick-up and drop-off locations are below:

  1. Walton Drive at the Recreation Center.
(The Recreation Center stop is no longer on Price Drive.)
  2. Reynolds Drive at the entrance of the Watson School of Education.

If you have any questions regarding shuttle route changes, please contact Parking & Transportation Services at 910-962-3178.

Open Parking System

Because we have an open system* after 4 p.m. and on weekends, you can still park on campus in the evenings with a valid parking permit. So when you're studying late at the library or attending an after-dark activity, you may move your car to a convenient campus spot.

*All parking on campus is by permit only. All permit holders are allowed to park in any non-reserved commuter, faculty or staff space on weekdays between 4 p.m. and 7 a.m. and on weekends. Commuter permit holders cannot park in resident zones/lots designated by color (Blue, Teal, Gold, and Brown) at any time. Rules concerning loading zones, handicap spaces, reserved spaces and fire lanes apply 24 hours a day.

PARKING OFFICE LOCATION

Parking & Transportation Services is located in the Auxiliary Services Office in Warwick Center. Entrance
