Surplus
Property encompasses all university property and equipment no longer
in use by a university department. University departments should
transfer all property and equipment to Surplus Property as soon
as it is determined that the property or equipment is no longer
needed. Departments may not sell, discard or give away state property,
nor is it to be used for personal use.
Property designated as surplus is available
to university departments on a first-come first-served basis. Surplus
Property does not keep an inventory of what is available; therefore,
we invite faculty and staff to view surplus property Monday through
Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please
call for an appointment.
Property not re-assigned to university
departments is disposed of according to guidelines of the NC State
Surplus Property Agency.
