Gov.
Mike Easley appointed Dr. Terry Coffey of Wilmington to the University
of North Carolina Wilmington Board of Trustees to a second term
that expires in 2011. He serves as vice chair of the board, chair
of the Business Affairs Committee and member of the Executive and
Educational Planning and Programs committees.
Coffey is the president of Murphy-Brown East, headquartered in
Warsaw, N.C. Previously, he was president of Murphy Farms LLC.
He is an adjunct professor at N.C. State University, serves on
the board of directors for the American Society of Animal Science
and serves as chairman of the N.C. Swine Health Committee for the
N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
Coffey received his bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral
degrees from the University of Georgia.
