Jeff
D. Etheridge Jr. was appointed to the UNCW Board of Trustees by
the UNC Board of Governors to a second term ending in 2011.
Etheridge serves on the Business Affairs and Educational Planning
and Programs committees.
Etheridge, who lives in Whiteville, is the regional president
of BB&T Corporation, the nation’s tenth largest bank.
He previously served as the executive vice president of United Carolina
Bancshares.
After attending East Carolina University, Etheridge earned his
bachelor’s degree in business administration from Campbell
University. He is a graduate of the Executive Program at the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he served as dean and instructor
for its North Carolina School of Banking.
Active in the community, Etheridge is on the board of trustees
for the Southeastern Community College Foundation and the board
of directors for the Columbus County Committee of 100, the North
Carolina Museum of Forestry and the North Carolina State Ports Authority.
