Linda A. Pearce was appointed to the UNCW Board of Trustees by the UNC Board of Governors to a term ending in 2009. She is chair of the Audit Committee and a member of the Business Affairs, Executive and Educational Planning and Programs committees.

The executive director of Elderhaus Inc., Pearce received her bachelor's degree in English/Spanish from North Carolina College in Durham and her master's degree in adult education with a concentration in gerontology from the University of the District of Columbia. She is a state visitor on the Duke University Minority Advisory Committee on Alzheimer's Disease, the eastern district representative to the N.C. Day Adult Day Care Association and member of the N.C Association on Aging Board of Directors.
