Allen Rippy Sr. was appointed to the UNCW Board of Trustees by the governor to a term that expires in 2009. He is a member of the business affairs committee and educational planning and programs committee.

Rippy is the owner of Cadillac of Wilmington, Saturn of Wilmington and Rippy Autopark. He is also a managing partner of Autopark Associates.

A graduate of Hoggard High School, Rippy received a bachelor’s degree from UNC Chapel Hill in 1973.

Active in the community, Rippy is a member on the board of directors of the Cooperative Bank and the Wrightsville Beach Association and is the founder of the Wrightsville Beach Surf Ministries. He also served on the UNCW Foundation Board and the board of directors of the YMCA and Cape Fear Academy.
