Listed below are changs there were approved after the posting of the 2009-2010 graduate catalogue.

p. 18 & 80 -- College of Arts and Sciences: Master of Arts in English
The minimum requirements for acceptance are the following: an acceptable score on the Graduate Record Examination, a satisfactory response to the statement of interest attached to the application form, a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or its equivalent in a foreign institution based on a four-year program, and a strong overall academic record with a “B” average or better in the undergraduate major. However, meeting minimal GRE scores and grade requirements does not in itself guarantee admission. Applicants who are not undergraduate English majors must have completed 12 hours of upper level English courses or have this requirement waived by the graduate coordinator.
The deadline for receiving applications is April 1 for the fall semester and November 1 for the spring semester. All interested applicants will be considered for teaching assistantships, which will be awarded on a competitive basis, ordinarilyin April for the following academic year. Applicants seeking graduate assistantships are urged to complete their applications well before the deadline.

The University of North Carolina Wilmington is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. The Watson School of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. The School of Nursing is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The Cameron School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International. The university also holds membership in the North Carolina Association of Colleges and Universities, the American Placement Council, the Consortium for Oceanographic Research and Education, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, the Council of Graduate Schools, and the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges. It is on the list of schools approved by the American Chemical Society and is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music. The parks and recreation management curriculum is accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Recreation, Park Resources, and Leisure Services National Recreation and Park Association/American Association for Leisure and Recreation. The athletic training
education program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The master’s degree in psychology is accredited by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc., and the Master of Public Administration program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. The bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in social work are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

P. 61 Admissions -- Senior Citizens
North Carolina General Assembly Session Law 2009-451, Senate Bill 202, Section 8.11.(b) repealed the waiving of tuition for North Carolina citizens age 65 and older.
