On Line Master of Science Degree in Chemistry

Program Description: 

The graduate program in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers many of our Masters level course in a distance learning format.  These courses are available to any student registered in the graduate program at UNCW, but students from cooperating industries can complete their Masters degree by working on research projects that are supervised by UNCW and industrial scientists and carried out at the company. Sample of on-line course.

Course Offerings: 

Over the next four years, the department will offer the following courses as distance learning options:
Industrial and Polymer Chemistry (CHM 585, 3 hours) offered whenever new students enter the program.
Advanced Organic Chemistry (CHM 516, 3 hours) offered for the first time in Fall, 2006
Introduction to Chemical Research (CHM 501, 2 hours) offered every Fall in which new students enter the program.
Advanced Physical Chemistry (CHM 521, 3 hours) offered for the first time in Spring, 2007
Advanced Biochemistry (CHM 568, 3 hours) offered for the first time in Fall, 2007
Advanced Inorganic Chemistry (CHM 545, 3 hours) offered for the first time in Spring, 2008
Medicinal Chemistry (CHM 517, 3 hours) offered for the first time in Spring, 2008.
Directed Independent Study (CHM 591, 2 hours) offered every summer that new students are in the program.
Thesis (CHM 599, 6 hours) offered every subsequent summer.
