The National Undersea Research Center at UNCW is funded by a grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) as part of the National Undersea Research Program (NURP). NURP includes headquarters in Silver Springs, MD and seven regional centers. The center at UNCW supports undersea research off the southeastern United States from North Carolina to Texas. Center facilities and staff are located at the university’s Center for Marine Science in Wilmington, NC and Key Largo, FL.
