COM Studies Day 2007 a Great Success |
|
Communication Studies Day 2007 was held Friday, March 23. This year’s theme was CAREER BUILDERS and features: Two alumni panel presentations with Q&A were held and recorded in our Leutze Hall television studio (room #125) from 10:00-11:30 am and 2:00-3:30 pm. A cross section of recent graduates shared stories and insights from their journeys in graduate programs and professional positions. The Communication Studies Society hosted its fifth annual Dress for Success Fashion Show at 12:15 pm in Warwick Center #135 (the Old Sharky’s Game Room). This year’s show, “Extreme Makeover: Career Edition,” was based on the hit ABC television show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” Students modeled business professional and business casual attire provided by The Limited and Men’s Wearhouse. The event was co-sponsored by the UNCW Storytellers. A social gathering was held from 5:00-8:00 pm at Wilsons Restaurant (Tiki Lounge) 4925 New Centre Dr. This event proved an ideal opportunity for junior and senior Communication Studies majors as well as COM faculty, staff, and friends to converse and network with visiting alumni. The annual tradition of Communication Studies Day is a vibrant celebration of our discipline, department, and all who comprise the Communication Studies family. See below for details.
