The Communication Studies Society (CSS) The UNCW Communication Studies Society (CSS) takes pride in providing a clear understanding of communication related fields for its members by providing networking opportunities with local communication professionals.

Each semester, CSS hosts “Make the Most of Your Major,” an event that introduces faculty and upcoming course offerings to pre-com students, as well as panel discussions by communication professionals. 

Each year, CSS hosts and participates in many community service activities, including the Rock for the Cure breast cancer benefit concert, Relay for Life, the Halloween Carnival, various food drives, and creating care packages for the children’s hospital.

In the spring, CSS hosts the Dress for Success Fashion Show, which teaches students how to dress appropriately for interviewing and in the workplace.  CSS also sponsors an annual Achievement Award, which recognizes a member of the society who has made a noteworthy contribution to the organization.
