Diversity Programs
The objective of the Diversity Program within the Osher Institute is to ensure that persons of different ethnic cultures are included in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of services to the community. The inclusiveness effort is strongly demonstrated by activities designed specifically for elderly/disabled citizens of the region. The UNCW faculty and staff have supported our outreach efforts by actively sharing their skills and talents, with the citizenry. Efforts are made to expand the target populations served and involve additional UNCW departments. Coordination of community resources has proven to be an effective approach to community engagement.
