Grades 3 - 12
Spend a full-day exploring the exciting study of marine science through classroom, laboratory and field activities. The Coastal Encounters program begins at the UNCW Center for Marine Science where students will participate in selected hands-on activates. After lunch, school groups will travel to their field locations where they will get "hands-on, feet-wet" learning opportunities in areas such as the marsh, beach or fouling community.
All Coastal Encounter field activities are divided into two main geographical areas: Wrightsville Beach area and Carolina Beach/Fort Fisher area.
