Send your young explorer on a true treasure hunt to discover the riches of our local barrier islands. Follow a secret map through the beach, dunes, maritime forest and marsh to find the true plant and animal treasures that inhabit our marine environment.
Activities include:
- Field trips to the beach, marsh, bird sanctuary, fouling station, carnivorous plant bog, maritime forest, UNCW Center for Marine Science, and NC Aquarium.
Highlights include:
- Learn how to read a map and compass, how to track and cast animal prints, and how to use binoculars; build a spyglass; go shell hunting in the splash zone; go seining and dip netting.

Each day we will focus on a different marine topic and provide arts & craft activities, fun educational videos, games, puzzles, books and snacks for tired campers to enjoy. $45 |
