Academic Interests

Dr. Rugoff takes an inductive approach to teaching and learning. A central goal is to encourage student engagement with literary texts by introducing critical approaches to reading, including observing the individual style and perspective of each writer and the general trends in a period. Many of her courses also incorporate discussion of the interconnections between literary texts, music, and the visual arts.
