1. Steve Dworkin of Psychology offers the following motion [Motion 2005-08-19; establish Veit Award; new business]:

   That, in recognition of the contributions made by Richard Veit during his 19 years of service in the Senate as senator, secretary, and president, the Senate establish the Richard Veit Award for Contributions to Shared Governance and Academic Freedom, and that it be awarded from time to time by the Senate to faculty members and others who have made distinguished contributions in these areas.
