Work Study: Federal Work Study is an award that allows a student to take a job that works around their class schedule. The student is paid every month for the hours they have worked. The student cannot earn more in the school year than their Federal Work Study award amount. Earnings are not applied to the Student's bill and are generally used for incidentals, though the student may save their earnings for future college bills. Applying for work study is part of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If a student is awarded work study it appears on the Financial Aid Award Letter. The student should then go to the Federal Work Study (FWS) Employment web page to apply for a job.
