For Students

The first thing you need to know is the name of your Financial Aid Counselor.

This site is designed to give you, the student, the information you need to know about financial aid in a quick and concise manner.  We have seven student specific web pages.  We recommend that you check out the pages relevant to you on a regular basis.  Make it a book mark on your web browser and use it as a reference whenever you need information.

This site, when combined with SEANET, can save you time standing in line at our office or waiting for a returned phone call from our counselors.  Most common questions are answered here. If you do not find the answer, we have tried to provide you enough information to help determine what questions you want to ask.

Certification Students: This page contains information on financial aid for Post-Baccalaureate Students enrolled in Certification Programs.

Continuing Students: So, you have been here a year or two and already receive financial aid?  Great, this page reminds you of deadlines, keeps you informed of important steps you need to take and gives you some details about maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress.  Everyone enrolled at the university who receives financial aid should refer to this site.

Extension Students: The University of North Carolina Wilmington Extension Program provides courses and degree programs to persons with an associate's degree or equivalent who wish to complete a four-year degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Business or Nursing. We have built this page specifically for those students participating in this program.

Graduate Students:  Students working toward their master’s degree and/or Ph.D. may be eligible for financial aid as graduate students.  This page provides financial aid information and loan limits for graduate students.

International Students: Students from other nations applying to the University of North Carolina Wilmington may be eligible for some types of financial aid.  We have built this page specifically for those students who are part of the International Program.

Newly Admitted Students: Have you just been accepted to UNCW?  If so, congratulations. Have you been here at the college but never receivedt financial Aid?  If so, then we welcome you. We have provided this page for those who are just starting the university or who may have never before had financial aid.

Out-of-State Students:  If you are from another state and interested in attending UNCW then we recommend that you check this page for information on how financial aid is handled for non-North Carolina residents.

Transfer Students: Interested in attending UNCW and have already attended another institution or are currently? That's not a problem. This page gives you some important information on how to apply for financial aid and what to expect when you are transferring to UNCW from another college.

Are you the child of a veteran whose 100% disability is service related?  Are you the child of a veteran whose death was service related?  If so, and you interested in receiving VA Education Benefits, this page is a great resource for you.
