ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

SPANISH FOR HERITAGE SPEAKERS

Tenure-track assistant professor of Spanish for specialist in Spanish for heritage speakers, to begin fall 2009. Applicants should have Ph.D. completed by August 2009. Will develop and teach classes for heritage speakers within the basic language program. Will be expected to teach all levels of undergraduate Spanish language courses (lower and upper divisions) and to contribute to teaching at the graduate level. Interest in diversity issues related to U.S. Latino communities and ability to teach U.S. Latino culture a plus. Native or near-native fluency essential. Must have evidence of strong teaching and research potential. Located in an attractive coastal city, UNCW is a diverse comprehensive university. Salary competitive.
