Regina R. Félix is responsible for the curriculum development and academic activities of the Portuguese program she builds. She organizes events to publicize the cultures of the Portuguese-Speaking World and Latin America for which she has enjoyed collaborating with Wilmington’s Brazilian and Hispanic communities. A Brazilianist, she teaches courses on diverse facets of Brazilian society. Her articles focus on women-centered cultural production and examine literature and cinema to expose the gender, race and class underpinnings of power relations in national and transnational contexts. Dr. Félix’s book analyses women’s imagination within the exclusivist cultural politics of the Brazilian nineteenth-century literary field.
