Call for Proposals: Description of Conference Themes Keynote Luncheon Speaker: In keeping with the commemoration of the historic Brown v. Board of Education decision this spring, Dr. Melton McLaurin, will be our keynote speaker over lunch Friday April 16- to set the stage for session on Brown v. BOE that afternoon. Dr. McLaurin is the Lillian Smith prize-winning author of Separate Pasts: Growing Up White in the Segregated South; Celia, a Slave; and The North Carolina State Fair: The First 150 Years. He is Professor Emeritus of History at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. His presentation over lunch will be: “Brown v. Board of Education: Consequences and Considerations”. Deadlines:
