Immediate post-doctoral opening in CAS Identity Science Program/Face Aging Group on the campus of University of North Carolina Wilmington. This is a one-year position with an optional second and third-year contingent on performance and funding. NOTE: This position cannot exceed three years. The funding for this position comes from the Department of Defense and/or the United States Intelligence Community. The position is open for recent and current Ph.D.’s in Computer Science or Engineering who have demonstrated a deep knowledge in one of the core areas as demonstrated by a prodigious publishing and presentation record. The Face Aging Group performs research in critical areas of biometrics and soft-biometrics, image and video processing, 3-D imaging and biometric (data) fusion. Applicants for the open position should have a deep knowledge in at minimum one core area:
- Biometrics: face recognition, iris recognition, skin/texture based techniques, multimodal fusion, 3D biometrics (hand/face/etc.)
- Image processing/analysis: segmentation, tracking, enhancement, feature selection, manifolds, 3D image processing, real-time video
- Pattern recognition/classification: feature analysis, discriminate analysis, clustering, meta classification, fusion
The applicants must be able to develop solutions in Matlab and/or C++ environments. Knowledge of open source statistical packages is a benefit.
