UNCW Public Historians Attend National Council for Public History Conference.
From April 2-5, public history professor Tammy Gordon and graduate students Laura Walters, Julia Yannetti, Christine Jamet and Jo-el Smith attended the National Council for Public History national conference in Providence, Rhode Island.
Christine Jamet presented a paper titled “Museum Going Habits of Community College Students” and Tammy Gordon presented “’We look for museums just like this’: International Visitors’ Perceptions of Small History Museums in the United States.” Both were part of a panel on visitor studies, which also included research presented by Western North Carolina University professor Jessie Swigger.
The group attended sessions and visited museums and historic sites with public historians from across the country.
