Venkat Dhulipala is an Assistant Professor of History, specializing in the history of modern South Asia. He received his Ph.D from the University of Minnesota in 2008 for his dissertation on the movement for the formation of Pakistan in the northern Indian province of UP. Dr. Dhulipala is currently working on a book manuscript which is based on his dissertation, titled Rallying Around the Qaum: The Muslims of the United Provinces and the Movement for Pakistan, 1935-1947. His publications include Rallying the Qaum: the Muslim League in the United Provinces, 1937-1939, which will appear in Modern Asian Studies in 2009.
