Office: Bear Hall 274 Dr. Conser is the author of Church and Confession: Conservative Theologians in Germany, England, and America, 1815-1866; God and the Natural World: Religion and Science in Antebellum America; Sacred Spaces: Architecture and Religion in Historic Wilmington, and coeditor of Religious Diversity and American Religious History and Resistence, Politics and the American Struggle for Independence, 1765-1775. He has published articles in such journals as Journal of American History, Journal of Southern History, New England Quarterly, and American Quarterly. Dr. Walter Conser has recently published a book: A Coat of Many Colors: Religion and Society along the Cape Fear River of North Carolina, Lexington: The University Press of Kentucky, 2006.
