Important: Your Web folder must contain an HTML file named "index.htm" or "index.html"; this file is your default homepage and cannot be named differently.

Windows XP

1. Click Start then "My Network Places"
2. Click the "Entire Network" icon on the left
3. Double click the "Microsoft Windows Network" icon
4. Double click the "Uncw" group icon.
5. Double click the "Uncwstudent" icon.
6. Double click the "WWW" folder
7. You should now see your folder; double-click to open it and then drag files over

OR

1. Click Start then "Run"
2. Type in \\uncwstudent\WWW\your-account where your-account is your UNCW username
3. Your folder should open. Drag files to this folder.

Macintosh OS X

1. In the FInder, Click on the Go menu, and then "Connect to Server"
2. Type in smb://student.uncw.edu and click Connect
3. Authenticate with your UNCW username and password
4. Select WWW and then click OK
5. Locate the folder named with your UNCW username and click on it
6. Drag files to this folder to upload them to your web site

To Upload Files from Off Campus

1. Connect to the UNCW network via VPN
2. Follow the instructions for your operating system above

If you are on Windows, you can also use FTP with Internet Explorer 7

1. Open your Web Browser.
2. In the address bar type: ftp://student.uncw.edu
3. You will be prompted for your username (abc1234) and password (e-mail password)
4. On the following page click on the Page dropdown in the right corner of the IE browser
5. Select Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer
6. You will then be prompted to log in again.
7. You can now use this window like it was a folder on your computer.
