The Information Technology Merit Scholarship was established in 2007 to support the Honors Scholars Program of the University of North Carolina Wilmington. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide a venue of support through the Information Technology Systems Division of the academic activities and goals of the university Honors' students.

Though newly established it is intended to grow this scholarship as a continuing form of support of the scholarship at UNCW.
