What are SeaPort Groups?
SeaPort groups are special sites that exist inside SeaPort that allow students, faculty and staff the ability to chat, share files, post messasges and much more. SeaPort groups are available for academic and non-academic groups, clubs or any other team who would like to collaborate online.
What can I do with a SeaPort group?

- Announcements. Lets you view some of the most recent announcements
- News. Lets you view news articles and submit new articles for publication
- Photos. Lets you view photos and submit new photos for publication
- Links. Lets you view links and submit new links for publication
- Files. Lets you view the files posted for sharing on a group or course homepage and submit a file for posting on the homepage
- Message Board. Lets you use the message board functionality
- Calendar. Lets you access a calendar for the group or course
- E-mail. Lets you send e-mail messages to members
- Chat. Lets you use chat functionality
- Members. Lets you view members of the group or course
You can view the complete user guide in SeaPort - just click on the Help link in the upper right hand corner of the groups page in SeaPort.
How do I access SeaPort Groups?
After logging in to SeaPort (http://seaport.uncw.edu), click on the Groups icon in the upper right hand corner of the page (as shown below).

From there you can click on the My Groups tab to access any SeaPort group that you are a member of.
If you do not see the group you're looking for you can click on Group Index use the sub-categories to browse for groups.
How do I request a SeaPort group for my group?
From the main groups screen, click on the Request Group tab at the top of the screen.

On that page, fill out the form and click the Submit Request button at the bottom of the page. Your request will be sent to the administrator for approval and you will be notified when the request has been reviewed.
