Editing Student Web Pages
It is recommended you create an index.html file for your Web folder on a disk or local hard drive for editing purposes. Once you have an index.html you can copy (using FTP) the file to your Web folder. There are a couple of ways to create/edit your Web page:
- Use a web editor (Publisher, Contribute, etc.)
- Use a text editor to write the html code
Uploading Student Organization Web Pages from ON Campus
For Windows:
- Go to Start and select Run
- Enter \\uncwstudent\www\org
- Locate and Open your Organization's folder
- Use this folder as you would any other folder on your computer
For Mac:
- Make sure the finder is running
- Click on Go
- Click on Connect to Server (Command + K)
- Enter smb://student.uncw.edu
- Select the org folder
- Locate and Open your Organizations folder.
- Use this folder as you would any other folder on your computer
Uploading Student Organization Web Pages from OFF Campus
- Connect to the campus via a VPN Connection. VPN allows your computer to "act" like it's on campus. Once you establish your VPN connection, follow the steps outlined above (Uploading Student Organization Web Pages from ON Campus.
Accessing/Viewing Student Web Pages
The URL for the organization page will be http://student.uncw.edu/org/org_name
i.e. http://student.uncw.edu/org/sga
