Working Together to Improve Learning and Teaching in Mathematics using Technology

UNC Wilmington is working in collaboration with Texas Instruments to expand the professional development opportunities available to pre-service, in-service, and university-level teachers in our region by establishing a Technology in Mathematics center (TIME) on the campus of the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

This Center is designed to enhance the teaching and learning of mathematics at all levels with the effective use of technology. A goal of the TIME is to increase student achievement by providing teachers with opportunities to become knowledgeable of best practices that will better-serve their students. Our center is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, current publications and resources, and instructional aids (manipulatives). It is located in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at UNCW where the Secondary Mathematics Education program is housed. This environment is provide exposure, awareness, understanding, and proficiency of the effective use of technology in mathematics classrooms.
