Steve Skillman is the principal horn of the Long Bay Symphony in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and third horn in the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra.  He is also a frequent performer with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra and is active in chamber music performances in the region.  He has appeared in shows in Myrtle Beach with Burt Bacharach, Barry Manilow, Johnny Mathis, and the late Ray Charles, as well as many touring Broadway productions.  Mr. Skillman served as a teacher and administrator for thirty years in Brunswick County, North Carolina, and now teaches horn at UNC-Wilmington.  He received Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from East Carolina University, where he studied with James Parnell.  Mr. Skillman is a former president of the Brunswick Arts Council, and is a recipient of the Award of Excellence from the North Carolina Bandmaster's Association.
