Coastal Cape Fear Quality of Life Survey, Fall 2000

A telephone poll of randomly selected households in the coastal areas of New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick counties. The results are based on interviews with approximately 520 respondents. The sample error is about 4.3%.

Specific questions that were used in interviewing. Summaries of subjects' responses to questions about the quality of life in the area. This series includes their overall satisfaction, perceptions of past changes, and expectations about future changes. This series reports on what respondents mentioned as the most important problem in the area. Also, it records how they viewed a number of specific problem areas. These areas included education, housing, traffic, and environmental quality. This series tracks popular perception of in local government officals. This series reports popular support for various hurricane damage mitigation strategies. This series reports the activities of respondents, mainly those activies which use the outdoors. This series provides information on characteristics of the sample. A number of questions about other orientations in the community.

A telephone poll of randomly selected households in the coastal areas of New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick counties. The results are based on interviews with approximately 347 respondents. The sample error is about 5%. This poll is the most recent poll in a series that began in 1995.

Public Perceptions of the Wilmington Police Department, Spring, 1999

A telephone survey of randomly selected households located within the Wilmington city limits. Survey results are based on interviews with 482 respondents conducted between February 6 and February 11, 1999. The margin of error is +/- 4.6%.

A telephone poll of randomly selected households in the coastal areas of New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick counties. The results are based on interviews with approximately 540 respondents. The sample error is slightly more than 4%. The first item in the following list will display the survey instrument. Later items show the frequency distributions for selected groups of items.

New Hanover County/Wilmington Project Impact Public Attitudes and Preparedness Study, July-August, 1998

A telephone poll over 1200 randomly selected households in New Hanover County. It was supported by New Hanover County Emergency Management and UNCW. It surveyed efforts of households to reduce the damage resulting from hurricanes striking the area, especialy as those efforts were influenced by FEMA's Project Impact.
