Academic Student Organizations

Anthropology Club: Exists to further enhance the abilities of members to study and discuss the field of anthropology.

American Medical Student Association: To give premedical students at UNCW a way to get connected into the realm of medicine at the undergraduate level. This will be carried out by providing volunteer, leadership, and mentoring opportunities as well as sharing vital information that will better prepare premedical students at UNCW to attend medical school.

Association for Computing Machinery: To advance the sciences and arts of information processing for scientific computation, the free interchange of information, and the development of individuals engaged in the arts of information processing.

Athletic Training Students Club: Designed by students who are in the Athletic training major or are interested in being an Athletic Training Student at UNCW. The students share pertinent information about sports medicine, allied health care issues, and are involved in community projects.

Beta Beta Beta (Biology Club): Exists to promote and facilitate the academic study of biology and other related fields. Also gives back to the community via biology-related services.

Biology Graduate Student Association: To endeavor for excellence in the work underway in the Marine Biology/Biology program at UNCW.

Chapter One (English Club): Provides an open forum for UNCW students to appreciate the literary and filmic arts.

Communication Studies Society of UNCW: Prepares members for a clearer understanding of the communication field and for entrance into this field.

Flicker Film Society: To make, learn about and write about movies. Aspiring film makers are encouraged to start here.

Forensic Science Club: To further enhance the abilities to learn about career opportunities as well as expanding one's education in forensic science.

French Club: Prepares members to be more active participants in the Francophone world.

Geology Club: Exists to provide educational activities for UNCW students and to conduct university and community service-oriented activities.

International Affairs Association: Provides opportunities for students to gain experience in International Relations

Mathematics and Statistics Club: To engender greater interest in mathematics, statistics, and mathematics education among the undergraduate and graduate students, majors and minors, of the Mathematics and Statistics Department of the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Model United Nations Association (MUNA): Exists to promote understanding of foreign governments, peoples and international political institutions such as the United Nations through participation in intercollegiate simulations.

National Science Teachers Association (NSTA): To promote excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all.

Pre-Veterinary Medical Association: For students in veterinary medicine to meet and gain a better understanding of the profession, to share experiences and interests, and to provide opportunities in veterinary medicine and community service.

Recreation Majors: Devoted to community service to install in its members the spirit ofbrotherhood, to help promote the recreation profession, and to do all in its power to develop men and women strong in body, mind, and spirit, who shall devote their life's energy to things worthwhile.

Social Work Student Organization: Promotes awareness and understanding of social welfare, techniques, process, and methodology as well as serving as a network with campus and community activities for better outcomes in society.

Society of Physics Students: To stimulate interest in advanced study and research in physics through group interaction including discussion, presentations, and projects.

Sociology and Criminal Justice Club: Serves to increase the awareness of criminal justice and sociological issues and concerns among the students of UNCW.

Spanish Club: Provides educational activities and cultural exposure to students of UNCW, as well as providing community service to the Hispanic population throughout the local community.

Student Health Association: To engage in health related activites and promote these activites as well as health awareness on campus.

Teaching Fellows: To prepare members to become exemplary teachers, to promote activism throughout campus, to enable members to be well-rounded individuals, to create a bond between the organization and the community.
