If you want to highlight your event even more - send us an image or logo to events@uncw.edu that goes along with your event and we'll do our best to include it on our web calendar!
Annual Event Information:
Each year the Campus Activities & Involvement Center hosts several events to help in promoting our student organizations. Participation in some of these events is stricktly reserved for our student organizations while others allow for UNCW departments to participate as well as off-campus entities. Fall Events
The Involvement Carnival is a chance for UNCW students (especially freshmen and transfer students) to see what involvement opportunities exist for them on campus and in the Wilmington community. Student Organizations, UNCW Departments, Religious Organizations (generally local churches), Community Service Agencies, as well as Local Businesses take part in this event.
In 2005, we had just under 200 participants. As the Involvement Carnival grows and covers more space on campus, more and more students take notice and look forward to this annual event where freebies - such as pizza, ice cream, baked goods, candy, coupons, pens, frisbees, cups and more - are at every step!
Special Note to Student Organizations... This is your chance to shine and really start off the year on a high note! With such a great number of students passing through this event each year, this is a great recruitment opportunity for all organizations. Interested students will be looking to get more information about your organization, find out when your first meeting time is and sign up to recieve more information - so come prepared!

Student Organization Leadership Conference (SOLC)
The SOLC is a unique opportunity for student leaders to strengthen their leadership skills, network with other student leaders, and learn the ins-and-outs of running a successful student organization here at UNCW. This year we have put together a full schedule of quality workshops and presentations, an energetic keynote speaker and a resource fair that will cater specifically to your needs.
Why Attend the SOLC? The SOLC is a great leadership development opportunity, and it is a required step in the student organization re-registration process at UNCW. Each organization must send two representatives.

Spring Events
Spring Activities Fair
The Spring Activities Fair is a smaller version of the Fall Involvement Carnival and is targeted toward helping our Spring transfer students get connected on campus. In order to allow these new students to settle into their new environment before we overload them with information, this event is held after the Drop/Add deadline, typically during the second week of classes.

Student Organization Appreciation Day
This annual event is CAIC's chance to give back to our student organizations and thank them for all that they do for our campus. With all that our student org's do for our campus - community service, special events, and ongoing involvment through regular meetings - we must attribute a lot of what goes on here at UNCW to our student leaders and their efforts and Student Organization Appreciation Day is just one small way in which we are able to recognize our student's efforts. This event takes place every April (typically on a Thursday) and entails the following:
- Recognize 6 out of the 10 winners of our Student Organization Leadership Awards
- Nominees for the Advisor of the Year, New Student Leader of the Year, Unsung Hero, and Student Organization of the Year are announced and winners of these four awards are recognized at the Cornerstone Leadership Awards
- Take the annual Student Leader Photo
- Provide FREE FOOD for all student organization members in attendance
- Give away GREAT door prizes, and
- Be entertained with live music provided by the Concert on the Commons music series
VIP Passes are made available for all student organization members as a way of ensuring that we are recognizing those students who deserve it most.
