Policies & Procedures
Welcome to the UNCW Student Recreation Center (SRC)! The Department of Campus Recreation offers staff-directed and self-directed activities which include but are not limited to basketball, volleyball, badminton, walking, jogging, group exercise, weight training, personal training, tennis lessons, swim lessons and climbing. The Hanover/Trask Natatorium will continue to be utilized for recreational swim. Open tennis play is available at the Gazebo recreation area. All Campus Recreation programs and facilities are available for faculty, staff and students who have paid the appropriate fees.
Please become familiar with the policies and procedures, which govern the operation of the Student Recreation Center. They should help you to make the best use of what our facility has to offer.
Harris Teeter Fitness Center (Policies)
The Harris Teeter Fitness Center is equipped with the lastest state-of-the art exercise equipment including:

Multipurpose Courts
The multipurpose courts are available for a variety of activities. The three court area can be used for basketball, volleyball, badminton, Sport Clubs and special events.
Group Exercise Room
A variety of class times are available including times for the early risers and those that prefer a late night workout.
Climbing Wall
The UNCW Student Recreation Center climbing wall stands approximately 28 feet high and provides over 1900 square feet of climbing surface. Routes range in difficulty from "no sweat" slab climbing to a fiercely overhanging arete section. The wall is intended for those with no experience to expert. Come by and give it a try! First time climbers climb for free.
Locker Room
Locker Room privelages and rules include:
- Daily use lockers are available at no charge. These lockers are located in the men’s and women’s locker rooms.
- Locks may not be left on lockers overnight. Locks will be cut off and the contents of the locker removed at the end of each day. Contents removed from lockers may be picked up at the Lobby Desk or the Campus Recreation office.Members must provide their own locks.
- The Department of Campus Recreation and its staff are not responsible for personal belongings. Please secure all belongings while in the Student Recreation Center as we cannot insure the safety of any items that are not properly secured during your visit.
