Whether you are looking to tone, lose weight, reduce stress, gain flexibility, or just have fun, group exercise classes are the place to be. Group Exercise classes at UNCW offer something for everyone! All group exercise classes are taught by Campus Recreation Group Exercise Instructors and are designed to provide participants with a safe, effective, and fun workout. Group Exercise does not discriminate by age, gender, or fitness level…everyone is welcome to attend. We offer a wide variety of classes ranging from yoga and Pilates to kickboxing and sculpting. We encourage everyone to try a group fitness class, especially if you need the extra motivation of great music and a wonderful instructor to workout.
Wellness Passport
The Wellness Passport is a program that gives individuals the opportunity to be rewarded for their workout and keep them motivated to stay on track.
- Participant can get a blank passport at the fitness desk or from a group exercise instructor
- Participant attends a group exercise class
- Complete the box on the appropriate row for the class you attended with the class name and instructor initials
- Once the row is completed attend a workshop (see website below) to redeem your prize
- After you attend the workshop you may redeem your prize at the Student Recreation Center Main Office M-F 8-5pm.
10 workouts = water bottle
20 workouts = drawstring backpack
30 workouts = T-Shirt
Entire card filled out = Name entered in a drawing for a bike

Group Fitness Extravaganza
Come try this exciting 1 ½ hour EXERCISE session and meet the Group Exercise Staff. It is a great opportunity to try all of the Group Exercises classes the SRC has to offer.

Group Exercise Class Policies:
- Participants will not be admitted to class after warm-up has begun due to safety reasons.
- Appropriate workout attire is required at all times, including proper athletic shoes.
- Participants are encouraged to regularly monitor their own workout intensity and take water breaks frequently.
- In order to ensure the safety of participants, class size may be limited at the discretion of the instructor.
- The instructor reserves the right to ask a participant to leave if these policies are not followed.
