Our Mission

UNCW Career Services is a comprehensive career counseling and resource center dedicated to empowering students as active participants in their own career development.  Through career exploration and experiential opportunities, students are motivated to expand their knowledge of themselves and the world of work in a dynamic global community.

Career Services encourages the discovery and refinement of students' work values, interests and skills, and their relationship to academic and career planning.  With Career Services resources, professional knowledge and support, students become responsible for their transition to productive academic endeavors and satisfying employment.  This mission is accomplished through collaboration with students, faculty, staff, employers, the general public and the use of state of the art technology.

Students can access the services and resources of UNCW Career Services in Modular Unit 1 in Lot E adjacent to the Fisher Student Center, 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, during the regular academic year or use our special drop-in hours for quick questions every Monday thru Friday, 2-4:30pm.   Career Services observes the University's alternative hours schedule during the summer.  Some special programs and events also are available during evening and weekend hours, as scheduled.  Additional information and services are available through Career Services' extensive web site www.uncw.edu/career , plus individual questions can be asked through the telephone (910 962-3174) or email careersers@uncw.edu. Currently enrolled UNCW students are eligible for all services.

Students taking UNCW classes at distant locations or on the web also are eligible for all services.  They may visit the UNCW campus offices, access our web services, and contact our staff by telephone and email.  Students taking UNCW classes on the Coastal Carolina Community College campus also may use the services and resources of the CCCC Career Center.
