Committee Chair:

Jenn Smist

Jenn is the Assistant Director in the Center for Leadership Education and Service (CLES) and has been a member of the PDC since fall 2006. She has professional experience in leadership education and development, community service-learning, civic engagement, and research and assessment. A graduate of the University of Maryland, she has a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Personnel Services. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Boston University. Jenn also served two years as an AmeriCorps*VISTA member with Massachusetts Campus Compact.

Jeff Lesley

Jeff Lesley is the Assistant Director for Production Services in the Office of Campus Life.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Management and Finance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  Jeff’s experiences include Audio-Visual support at UNCC, the Charlotte Convention Center and many Charlotte area hotels.  He joined UNCW in the summer of 2002 in the Office of Campus Life (formerly known as the University Union) where he supervises the Audio-Visual Technicians, Student Building Managers and the Student Development Program.  Jeff serves on the Emergency Operations Group for the University.  He focuses on providing a professional and fun work environment for his staff to achieve top level results for the client while creating “experiences for life” for the staff.

Bob Gough

Bob is the Sport Club and Special Event Coordinator for the Department of Campus Recreation and is new to the PDC. Bob joined UNCW in Aug of 2001. He is adjunct faculty to the Health and Applied Human Sciences Department and prior to coming to Wilmington he held the position of Aquatic Director at the University of Virginia. He has served as chair of the Awards and Recognition Committee and has been on many campus program committees including the Student Organization Leadership Conference, UNCWelcome Back, Midnite Madness, Safe Spring Break, Accessible Recreation Day, Homecoming, Greek Week, and most recently served as Volunteer Coordinator for Move-in 2007. He is active in the National Intramural Recreational-Sports Association and serves as the Assistant Director of the North Carolina Recreational Sports Association.

 

Adam Scarbro

Adam is the Residence Coordinator of Seahawk Landing for the Department of Housing and Residence Life and is new to the PDC. Adam joined UNCW in July of 2005. He is currently chair of the UNCW Move In Committee and has been on many campus program committees including Alcohol Awareness Week, UNCWelcome, Midnite Madness, Community Standards, and Homecoming. He is currently advisor to the National Residence Hall Honorary. He is active in the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, The Southeastern Association of Housing Officers and North Carolina Housing Officers and a member of The National Recreation and Park Association.

 

Mike Walker

Dr. Walker joined the UNCW Student Affairs team as Asst. Vice Chancellor/Dean of Students January of 2006.  He has worked in higher education since 1991 at Western Illinois University, North Central College (IL) and The George Washington University (where he received his Doctorate of Education in Higher Ed. Admin. in 2001).  He has also served as an adjunct professor of Higher Education Administration at GW and Drexel University. Currently Mike assists the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs with management and coordination of Student Affairs services and programs, and he directly oversees Campus Life, the Center for Leadership, Education and Service, the Office of the Dean of Students, and Campus Recreation.

 

Victoria Weldon

Victoria is an executive assistant in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. She provides administrative support to the assistant vice chancellor/dean of students and peripheral support to the operations of the VCSA Office. Victoria has professional experience in program management, event planning, traveler’s assistance and human resources. She attended the University of Texas Arlington.

 

 

 

 

 

Katrin Wesner

Katrin Wesner

Katrin is the Director of the Abrons Student Health Center and has been a member of the PDC since May 2007. She has professional experience in healthcare management, health education, alcohol and other drug education and prevention, and emergency management and crisis response. A Certified Administrator in Physician Practice Management, Katrin is a member of the American Academy of Medical Management, Sigma Xi and Mensa.
