International Tutor Program Certification
Tutor Certification Reception
This year's Tutor Certification Reception was quite a success! We certified more peer tutors & leaders than ever before (25!), and we were once again very impressed by the high-quality research posters each tutor or leader presented.
These posters, and the research projects they represent, were only one part of the certification requirements our peer tutors and leaders fulfilled: Tutors certifying at the first level of certification participated in a workshop series and/or training meetings (a minimum of ten hours), wrote reflectively about their tutoring experience, observed other tutors at work, and completed a minimum of twenty-five tutoring contact hours (an easy task for our hard-working tutors & leaders!). Tutors certifying at the Advanced and Master level took the course EDN 230: Tutoring Individual and Small Groups which required, among many other assignments, another, more advanced, research project.
We are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication of the peer tutors and leaders who work in the University Learning Center.
