Treat yourself or see the doctor?

Many of the common illnesses or minor injuries you may experience can be prevented or safely taken care of on your own. Listed below in alphabetical order are some of these problems that students are faced with.

Before taking and medications suggested in this self-care section, read all labels. If you are unsure if a medication is appropriate for you, consult your health care provider or pharmacist. This may apply to you especially if you have any chronic medical condition or are taking any medications on a regular basis.

SPECIAL NOTE: The medical information and recommendations in this section are not intended to substitute for medical care from a health care professional. Be especially aware of the conditions noted under each problem in this section which indicate that you need to SEEK MEDICAL CARE as you use these guidelines for self-care. If the suggestions in this section are not effective, see a health care provider.
