Freshmen may attend Summer Session II only. Admitted Student? What's Next?
New freshmen or transfer students who want to enroll in summer courses must contact the Office of Admissions to change their enrollment status to summer.
All new degree-seeking students (transfer and freshmen) are required to attend orientation prior to attending summer school. The purpose of orientation is to acquaint students with academic requirements and campus services. During orientation you meet with an academic advisor, take placement tests as needed, and register for both summer and fall term classes. All students must register for an orientation session prior to attending orientation. University College
The University College is the academic home for all freshmen and for sophomores who have not yet declared their majors. The University College Advising Center is located in Westside Hall, Room 1092. It is staffed by professional academic advisors year round. Students attending summer school are welcome to stop in at the Advising Center to get help with course selection, major requirements, choice of major, clarification of academic rules and regulations, or for any other academic problem or question. Our advisors are eager to help.
In addition to providing academic advising to over 3000 underclass students, the University College also coordinates the offering of the Freshman Seminar and the new Learning Communities courses during the regular academic year.
